New Christian Congregations in Muslim Areas of Malawi

The month of November had been a very busy one for the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Malawi (EPC Malawi) since we have managed to open 3 New Congregations.

These new congregations are Khanyepa in Chiradzulu District, Chibwana in Machinga District and Thyolo in Thyolo District. These churches have been established after evangelizing and teaching the members for a period of one year. There are 120 members, 62 members and 320 members for each congregation respectively.

The most interesting thing is that Khanyepa and Chibwana Churches have been established in Muslim dominated areas and 75% of the members are those that were formerly Muslims. It was unbelievable to many but we thank God that He has done it! We have learned a lot through this and we have also noted that there are many Muslims that are not reached who can easily come to the Lord if we reach them with the Good News of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Others are perishing because of ignorance.

Our main duty is to continue teaching them and encouraging them. We are planning to send them pastors who will teach them more. Our major challenge is that of Christian Literature and evangelism equipment which can also be used to teach the members. Please pray for us and these new congregations. If you can have suggestions on how we can get enough Christian Literature and Evangelism equipment, we will appreciate your advice on this so that we can reach many people including more Muslims.
