This meeting will take place in Berlin, Germany, and will include meeting with German Chancellor, Angela Merkel

During the week os September 12 - 14, 2016, around 100 members of the International Panel of Parliamentarians for Freedom of Religion or Belief – IPPFoRB (http://ippforb.com), coming from over 50 nations and committed to supporting article 18 of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (focusing religious freedom), will gather in Germany to report on local and regional actions and to participate in seminars aimed at strengthening the global work of the IPPFoRB.

Religious persecution of people on the grounds of faith or belief continue to rise around the world. The event will focus on multifaceted approaches for Parliamentarians to defend and enhance freedom of Religion and Belief and consists of two parts: a capacity building symposium for parliamentarians 12 to 13 September followed by a High Level Political Conference (An Embattled Right: Protecting and Promoting Freedom of Religion or Belief) hosted by the German CDU/CSU Party on 14 September, to be opened by Germany’s head of government, Dr. Angela Merkel.
