Prayer Request from WRF Member, The Sudanese Reformed Churches
Prayer Request from WRF Member, The Sudanese Reformed Churches July 12, 2016, Dr. P. J. Buys: The following prayer request was sent to the WRF on July 9, 2016.
Please, let’s all be in prayer for our brothers and sisters in South Sudan.
This is to inform you that there was heavy fighting in Juba between the South Sudanese government and opposition forces during the last two days. The fighting has subsided today but gun-shots are being heard all over the town. Hundreds of soldiers have been killed. Thousands of people are being displaced again. People are being targeted in the streets. Juba is back into insecurity again. We are safe and none of our members have harmed. Things are getting more complicated and tense in Juba.
Last week our church in Wau (capital of West Bhar el Ghazil) has been destroyed and all properties destroyed. All our members have fled to UN camps for protection. The humanitarian situation is becoming worse day by day.
We need your prayers please.
Pastor Patrick Jok, Synodical Clerk The Sudanese Reformed Churches (a denominational member of the WRF)
