Five Ways to Enjoy Christmas, by WRF Member Thiago Silva
Christmas is a time of joy, colorful lights, carols, Christmas trees and fellowship with family and friends. It’s time to look back at the year has gone and get ready for the year to come. Particularly, this is the time of the year I love the most. At home, we already set up the tree, turned the lights on, and the joy is all around.
And with great pleasure, I would like to share with you some simple things we can do to enjoy Christmas:
1. Remember Christ. The first thing we should do is comprehend that there is no Christmas without Christ. He brings significance to our lives. Christmas is all about the birth of Jesus Christ, the Light of the world. He is the real Christmas, and He is the real joy. Christ came into the world to rescue us, to save us and to bring us close to Him. “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord” (1 Corinthians 1.9).
2. Be prepared. Set up your Christmas tree, turn the lights on, but don’t forget Christ and His wonderful work.
3. Enjoy your family. Get everyone together for a happy Christmas dinner. Go to Christmas Spectaculars with your family, take the children to see the lights, listen to Christmas songs and hymns. Read the Bible with them and talk about Jesus.
4. Go to church. Christmas carols are always a great option this time of the year. Take your family, above all, those who do not know Christ as their Lord and Savior. Think about your life with God, how you have lived your life. Christmas is a great opportunity to seek a better relationship with God and with our family.
5. Share Christ with everyone. Don’t stay quiet, tell everybody the Redemption’ story, talk about Jesus to the people on the streets, at the supermarket and at the malls, evangelize!
Christmas is a time of joy, and everyone needs to know that the real joy we can only find in Jesus. So, enjoy Christmas time, enjoy your family and friends, think about Jesus and share the Bible with your beloved ones. And may the joy of Christ will rest upon you and your family! Merry Christmas,
